Invitations

Picture
These are our perfect invitations that we made.  We just looked around and got a general idea of what we wanted and made our own.  It was way cheaper for us to make our own and they are exactly what we wanted.

We worked these up on the computer.  We are going to send them out in our thank yous to everyone that comes to the reception.

Favors

Favors are all finished! I'm happy that they are done.  It's a good feeling to know that it is one more thing checked off the seemingly never ending list of things to do.

Centerpieces

Picture
We both think getting cut flowers is a lot of money for a couple of days of pretty.  So we decided to do something different for our centerpieces, I searched lots of non-floral ones but decided the tissue paper flowers were the way we wanted to go.  We've spent a lot of time making lots of these tissue paper flowers.  The top two pictures are our actually flowers that we have made the last one is of the tulips that we are planning on working on but haven't gotten to yet.  We just went to Goodwill and Salvation Army and bought all different vases.  We also beaded the bees to be attacked to each of the vases just for a little bit of fun and whimsy.

If you are looking for making these type of flowers for any occasion get the Klutz book Tissue Paper Flowers Good Enough to Fool Bees.

Bracelets

I made these bracelets for all of the bridesmaids and myself.  This isn't a great picture but they all look great.  They are made out of glass pearl beads, and some crystals.

All things Flowered

Picture
My sister had told me about bouquets like this on Outblush.com which took me to an etsy.com page where reallybadkitty is selling them.  When looking at them I knew I could make them myself.  My mom also had tons of old buttons some of which had been passed down from my great-grandma and other extended family members.  So I get my something old and a totally unique bouquet at the same time. All I have to do on them is wrap the stems together and wrap ribbon around them.

I had a ton of fun working on these it was really fun to make all of the different button flowers.  Dave helped me a lot on all of the above stuff.

The boutonnières and wrist corsages are finished now.  I'm really happy with them.  The dads and a few other VIPs will get them.  We also finished the wrist corsages for the mom's and grandma's.

Cake Topper!

Picture
This is our cake topper, since we are having a 6" cake for the two of us I made a model of the Red Baron because that's the name of the bar that we met at, so it has significance to both of us.  It was fairly easy to make and I think it looks pretty darn good.  I was really upset and didn't like it at all during the process but now that it is done I'm really happy with it.

Card Box

I drew the flowers on the mailbox and Dave painted them.  I'm really excited about it.  I like them, I think he did a great job.

Hair Pieces

Picture
I'm currently working on a seed bead flower to put on a hair comb for the wedding.  I've got it in the works and so far it looks good to me.  We'll see what happens.

Still to come....

We are still working on some other DIY ideas.  Our guest book will probably be squares of fabric that everyone can sign and then my mom will make into a quilt for us.  Seems more useful than a regular guest book and we are going to put pictures of our wedding day and probably pictures of our families weddings, like our grandparents who have been married for 50+ years.  They've done something right.  I saw the idea in Martha Stewart Wedding Magazine and loved it.
